Ken here. I had a nice day of field work to visit a stream gauge and weather station near Paamiut this week. The 1.5 hour helicopter flight is a nice bonus. The highlight of the flight was passing through sunny weather over Frederickshaab Isblink, the huge glacier coming off the Greenland ice cap in southwest Greenland. The surface textures of large chunks of ice are always interesting, especially from the air. Here are some photos from the trip and some other past personal favorites from cold regions of the planet. Abstract art at its cheapest.
